Which countries ban Worldcoin?

As of August 2023, only one country has banned Worldcoin: Kenya. The Kenyan government suspended Worldcoin's operations in the country on August 2, 2023, citing concerns about data privacy and security. The government said that it was not clear how Worldcoin would store and use the biometric data that it collects from users, and that there was a risk that this data could be used for malicious purposes.

Worldcoin has also been met with regulatory scrutiny in other countries, including France, Germany, and India. These countries are concerned about the potential for Worldcoin to be used for money laundering or other illegal activities. They are also concerned about the privacy implications of collecting iris scans from users.

It is possible that other countries will ban Worldcoin in the future. However, it is also possible that Worldcoin will be able to address the concerns of regulators and governments and operate in more countries. Only time will tell how Worldcoin will be regulated and accepted around the world.

Here is a list of countries where Worldcoin has been banned or suspended:

  • Kenya
  • France
  • Germany
  • India

It is important to note that this list is not exhaustive and may change in the future.
